WHAT IS REGENERATIVE LAND MANAGEMENT?

Regenerative Land Management describes practices restoring Soil Organic Matter and its Soil Biology in the Top Soil for any Land use. Its protection, cultivation and nourishment are its heart and soul. Our primary agenda is to find as many ways as possible to increase Soil Organic Matter and its Soil Biology.

Regenerative Land Management is generally associated with Agriculture. However, any Land can get managed regeneratively, regardless of the use – roadsides, sports fields, farms golf courses, council managed Land etc.

All life above ground is a mere reflection of what is going on in the below ground.

If we want to effect any change on the surface, we need to change what is going on in the soil.  If the health of the subsoil is compromised, the results of all activities above ground can only be limited.

For decades we are losing more topsoil here in Australia and globally than we generate, making it increasingly challenging to sustain Biodiversity and to grow plants successfully.

Healthy Soil Biology does work in many ways. It creates structural integrity of the soil, preventing erosion. It contributes to water holding capacity, essential for growing plants, fighting drought, preventing floods and for bushfire resilience.

Soil Biology and its Biodiversity is vital to our health and survival.

Our bodies need nutrient-dense foods to thrive, which in turn need healthy soils to grow. What is still widely unknown, however, is that our immune system and our mental health improve just by being surrounded by healthy soils.

Let’s promote Regenerative Land Management as the new normal for all landholders, private and public, great and small, to improve our health and that of our Planet.
